Bhubaneswar: The Special Vigilance Court here awarded 3-year jail term to two former officials of Odisha Rural Housing Development Corporation (ORHDC) in connection with financial irregularity in the corporation which took place in 2000.
Pradip Rout, the then accounts officer of ORHDC and Chitta Mallick, the former accountant of the corporation were the two former employees who were awarded the jail terms.
The court also slapped a fine of Rs 75,000 on both of them.
The court had issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against them, following which they had appeared before the court today.
The court, in July, had convicted senior IAS officer and former Managing Director of ORHDC, Vinod Kumar and five employees in connection with the fraud to the tune of Rs 55 lakh.
