Orange warning for heavy rain issued for nine districts of Odisha

As many as nine districts of Odisha has received orange warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall on Saturday.

Bhubaneswar: As many as nine districts of Odisha has received an orange warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall on Saturday. The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has issued an orange warning due to the Western Strom.

According to the weather reports, the orange warning has been issued for the districts of Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur and Puri.Some parts of these district winds is expected to blow at a speed of 40 to 50 kmph.

Apart from this, heavy rain is expected in Cuttack, Jajpru and Dhenkanal. Some places of these three districts will likely receive 7 to 11 cm rain today. Especially at this time, the wind with a speed of 40 to 45 km will likely be experienced, said the Meteorological Department.

The Meteorological Centre has predicted lightning with thunder and rain in some interior and coastal districts on 19th March. By 20th March, the amount of rain will gradually decrease and the weather will change again, the Meteorological Centre has informed. On the other hand, Bhubaneswar will remain mostly cloudy and some places will receive thundershowers.
