OPTCL DGM awarded 5-year rigorous imprisonment

Baripada: Special Vigilance Judge Prasanna Panda on Monday convicted and awarded five-year rigorous imprisonment to Yashwant Choudhry, the DGM of Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited’s (OPTCL) Mayurbhanj branch in a graft case.

While conducting the hearing of the graft case filed against Yashwant Choudhry in 2017, the Special Vigilance Judge sentenced him to five years of rigorous imprisonment. This apart, the Judge also imposed a penalty of Rs 25,000 on Yashwant Choudhry for the offence and directed him to spend one year more in jail, if he does not pay the fine.

A graft case was filed against Yashwant Choudhry for reportedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000.
