Operation Paree-II to begin from Sept 1

Bhubaneswar: Odisha police is all set to begin operation Paree-II from September 1 to trace the missing children of Odisha within and outside the state. This was informed by Odisha Crime Branch ADG Santosh Kumar Upadhyay today.

Upadhyay informed that the missing children searching drive will be done in two phases. While the first phase of the campaign will be conducted between September 1 and September 15 in Odisha, it will be carried out from September 16 to September 30 outside the state.

He further said that all district police will be a part of the drive.

Notably, Odisha Police had launched a two-week statewide community awareness campaign titled ‘Paree Pain Katha Tiye’ (a word for the little angel) against child sexual abuse from May 28 to June 12 this year in association with UNICEF. As many as 15 Paree Express Vans had travelled across the state carrying the message.

As per reports, the state police, meanwhile, has closed the ‘Operation Muskaan,’ a campaign to rescue and rehabilitate the missing children.
