Keonjhar: A marriage procession turned tragic at Atopur village under Town Police station limits in Keonjhar district as a youth died after coming in contact with a live wire last night.
According to reports, a wedding procession with a DJ vehicle was heading towards the old market of the Town. However, the DJ vehicle came in contact with an electric wire accidentally, as a result, a young man in the vehicle fell to the ground.
The victim was instantly rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment but it was too late as he was declared brought dead by the doctor.
The Town Police reached the spot immediately after getting information about the incident and started an investigation into the matter to know the reason behind the tragic incident.
Through investigation, it was found that the deceased young man was a resident of Janardhanpur.
Meanwhile, a pall of gloom descended on the village following the heart-wrenching incident during the marriage procession, which is normally considered an event of joy and merry-making.
