OMFED Dairy Express flagged off in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today flagged off 10 OMFED vans which will market the State Milk Federation products in the State Capital.

Though the vehicles were flagged off today, they will begin their business from Thursday (August 2). The vehicles will deliver dairy products in 67 wards of the city.

The state government will increased the number of the vehicles to 50 in future and other cities like Cuttack, Sambalpur, Puri and Berhampur will be covered under the Marketing scheme.

According to reports, the vehicles will carry different food products like sweetened flavoured milk, sweet curd, plain curd, lassi, butter-milk, chena-poda, paneer, rabdi table butter, peda, khoa, rasagulla, gulab jamun and different variety of ice creams.

These products will be directly marketed to the customers through OMFED-appointed vendors.

The state government has decided to sanction Rs 1 crore for the project under Rashtriya Krushi Vikas Yojana (RKVY).
