The 24-year-old Olympic Champion gave a stunning performance in a brand new season. Recently, he pulled off his first top 3 finish at the renown Diamond League and created a new national record.
In his first attempt, his throw was measured at 89.94m, which is far better than his last national record of 89.30m.
Neeraj almost missed the 90-meter mark, while Grenada’s Anderson Peters won the event with a throw that measured 90.3 metres on his third attempt of the evening.
Chopra earlier defeated top-seeded Anderson Peters in the Kurotone Games in Finland, where the Indian won the gold medal. Peter also placed third at the Paavo Nurmi Games.
