Cuttack: At a time when we are coming across cases of neglecting old parents, a social outfit in Cuttack of Odisha came up with a unique idea to worship old parents today.
Though today’s day is not recognized as a special day related to parents, the members of Jay Jagannath Seba Samiti in Badhei Sahi of the Silver city of Odisha wanted to worship their old parents on this Valentine’s Day.
Today is Valentine’s Day and mostly young boys and girls are seen sharing romantic moments with each other. However, the Seba Samiti members came up with the unique idea of worshipping old parents because according to them parents are the most lovable person for them.
Fathers and mothers are the people who should not be worshipped only on any special day but they should be worshipped across the year. They are not less than God in lieu of their contributions, dedications and sacrifices that they make towards their children. And hence, they should be worshipped, the Seba Samiti members believe.
With this unique idea, the members of the Seba Samiti have set an example of paying respect to the parents.
On this occasion the members, which included young boys and girls as well as children, got assembled in the Samiti premises and worshipped the old parents. Besides, they also paid homage to the martyrs who had lost their lives on this day in the Pulwama attack.
