Bonai: An old man of Patamundai village in Sundargarh district has been killed and burnt on suspicion of practicing witchcraft in the village.
According to reports, the deceased was identified as Kalia Dehuri. Kalia was attacked on the way to his farm by Tanguru Giri from the same village.
Kalia was hit so badly by a heavy rod that he died on the spot. It is believed that he had survived an earlier attempt to oust him from the village but was saved.
But locals say he was not lucky this time, Giri attacked him, killed him and then burnt his body and house.
Upon receiving the information, the police reached the spot and detained the accused at the police station and further investigation is underway.
