Odisha’s tallest Ganesh idol being worshiped at Khurdha village Khurdha: Odisha’s tallest Ganesh idol, 55-feet high, is being worshiped at Ujala Gopinathpur village under Tangi Tehsil in Khurda district on Friday.

Hundreds of devotees from many near-by villages gathered on the spot to offer their prayers and seek the blessings of the god of wisdom who is made to seat on a huge bird.

As many as 10 sculptors from Cuttack laboured hard for more than a month to erect the tallest statue of the elephant god in Odisha. The Gadi Brahma Youth Association is in-charge of the entire celebration of the Puja.

According to sources, more than 10,000 bundles of straw, two trucks of mud, 30 packets of polisher, more than 300 bamboos and other materials have been used in the tallest statue.

Earlier, a 35-feet tall idol named ‘Thailand Ganesh’, erected last year in Bhubaneswar, was considered the tallest statue in Odisha.
