Bhubaneswar: Odisha born Sanjay Kumar Mohanty has been taken charge as the New General manager of South Eastern Railway, Kolkata.
Prior to this, Mohanty , a 1985 batch of Indian Railways Traffic Service (IRTS), was posted as Pricipal Executive Director, Railway Board.
“Shri Sanjay Kumar Mohanty, (IRTS) has been posted as General Manager South Eastern Railway. Mohanty’s contribution towards Indian Railways is noteworthy,” read the Facebook post of South Eastern Railway.
Mohanty also worked in various important posts in Indian Railways like Chief Vigilance Officer in East Coast Railway, Divisional Railway Manager at Khurda Road.
He has also worked with distinction in various senior capacities at Mumbai, Nagpur, Jhansi and in Konkan Railway and well-known as a system-builder and for innovations in administration.
Mohanty’s contribution towards making Khurda Road Division the leading freight loading Division of Indian Railways is noteworthy.
Born in Odisha’s Balasore, Mohanty is an alumnus of the Delhi School of Economics.
