Odisha’s Mohan Mahapatra creates ‘Unique World Record’

Jaipur: Mohan Mahapatra aka Sai Ram Gandhi is the student of Bhubaneswar-based Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya. Instead of searching for a job after his studies, Mahapatra decided to undertake the mission of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA) on a padayatra (journey by feet).

Dressed and made-up like the Father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi, Sai Ram Gandhi has walked around 2,000 kilometers in the last two years.

As of now, the 26-year-old youth has visited seven states of the country spreading the message of cleanliness and peace.

On his arrival in Jaipur, Rajasthan, today, Mahapatra was felicitated by Union Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore with the certificate of Unique World Record – Longest Journey by Road as “Mahatma Gandhi.”

Unique World Record

Sai Ram Gandhi got inspiration to set out the padayatra after he was hailed by people in Bhubaneswar when he participated in several events dressed as dressed and made-up like the Father of the nation. He had begun his padayatra from Puri Srimandir on June 26, 2016, and finished it on October 2, at Sabarmati, Porbandar, Gujrat.
