Odisha’s daily covid cases crosses 10k mark, 3 deaths in the last 24 hours

Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Wednesday reported a huge spike in Covid cases with 10,059 positive cases including 3,188 from Khordha have been detected in the last 24 hours.

The total cases include 872 in the 0-18 years age group have been found, informed the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department.

Among the 10,059 positives, 5833 are quarantine cases and 4226 are local contacts. There are a total of 44,349 active cases. The new recoveries stand at 949. The positivity rate stands at 12.40%.

Meanwhile, Odisha reports 3 deaths in the last 24 hours.

Details of cases confirmed as death due to Covid-19, after due completion of death audit process:

1. A 55 years old male of Angul district who was also suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease & Severe Anemia.

2. A 60 years old male of Kendrapara district who was also suffering from Coronary Artery Disease, Acute coronary syndrome & Diabetes Mellitus.

3. A 85 years old male of Nayagarh District.

NOTE: This list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19.
