Odisha’s Amiya Mallick wins bronze, CM Naveen Patnaik congratulates

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Amiya Mallick won the bronze medal in the Men’s 100m at National Inter-State Athletics Meet at Punjab’s Patiala. He grabbed the medal with a timing of 10.49 seconds.

Meanwhile, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated Mallick and wished him very best for future.

The gold medal of the men’s 100 metres dash was won by Punjab’s Gurindervir Singh who set a new national record. He completed the race with a timing of 10.27 seconds, which was better than the previous record of 10.32 seconds set by Maharashtra’s Krishna Kumar Rane in 2014.

Punjab’s Lovepreet Singh secured the second position and won the silver medal with a time of 10.47 seconds.

In the Women 100 m event, S Dhanalakshmi of Tamil Nadu won the gold medal with a timing of 11.52 seconds. The silver and bronze medals were won by Amasha de Silva of Sri Lanka (11.59 secs) and Archana Suseendran of Tamil Nadu (11.60 secs) respectively.
