Angul : A 25-year-old man drowned in a pond near Bagadia village under Chhendipada police limits in Odisha’s Angul district on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Sarat Gochhayat of Bagadia village.
According to reports, Sarat went to the pond to take bath early in the morning. He ventured deep into the water body and was drowned.
Sarat’s body was later spotted floating in the pond and was fished out by locals, who tried to resuscitate him but in vain. He was rushed to Bagadia Hospital, but unfortunately, the concerned doctor was not present in the hospital.
Soon after, Sarat was taken to Chhendipada hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Meanwhile, Chhendipada Police sent the body for post-mortem examination and began investigation in this connection.
