Odisha youth dies of dengue fever

Rayagada: A 19-year-old boy died of dengue fever while undergoing treatment at a private run hospital in Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday evening.

The deceased has been identified as M Ravi Kumar, son of M Tirupati Rao of Sulava village of the district in Odisha. He was staying at the Railway colony here to pursue his studies.

According to the reports, Ravi was first admitted to the District Headquarter Hospital here on July 8 as he complained severe headache and fever.

However, his family members shifted him to a private hospital in Vishakhapatnam on July 10 after he was diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease. He succumbed to the deadly disease while undergoing treatment.

Ravi’s mortal remains reached here this morning. His funeral will take place at his village this afternoon, sources said.
