Bonai: In a ghastly incident, a youth killed his father by beating him with a piece of wooden plank on Friday. The incident has taken place at Toda village under Koida police station limits in Bonaigarh Tehsil of Sundergarh district.
The deceased was identified as Mahulia Naik. He was killed by his son Baikuntha Naik.
While the exact reason behind the murder is yet to know, police suspect it to be a case of the fallout of family dispute.
Koida police has initiated a probe into the incident after registering a case against Baikuntha under Section 302 of the IPC. Besides, they have detained the accused Baikuntha for interrogation.
Mahulia’s body, meanwhile, has also been sent to the Lahunipada Community Health Centre (CHC) for an autopsy. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
