Odisha working journalists to get Rs 2 lakh Health Insurance cover from June 1

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to lure media persons in Odisha, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday launched “Gopabandhu Sambadika Swasthya Bima Yojana” with effect from June 1, 2018.

In the first phase, as many as 3233 working journalists from across the state, under the scheme, will get health insurance coverage up to Rs 2 lakh a year . At least 5 members of the journalist’s family will be covered under the scheme, said a CMO statement.

The scribes will get their Health Insurance card from the District Information & Public Relations Officer (DIPRO) in their respective districts.
