Paralakhemundi: Yet another woman sat on dharna in front of father-in-law’s house to stay with her husband in Odisha. The incident was reported from Paralakhemundi of Gajapati district.

One Manisha had married to Chaitanya Raju, son of Jagannath Raju of Paralakhemundi, in 2016. However, Chaitanya, Jagannath and his wife had allegedly tortured Manisha by demanding more dowries.

This apart, they had asked Manisha to stay away from the house until she brings the dowries as per their demands. However, she now sat on dharna in front of her father-in-law’s house, which is situated behind the Nilama Temple in Paralakhemundi.

“I had got married in 2016. They harassed me for dowry. Since my father neglected to do that they leveled allegations of an extramarital affair against me. So that, they can easily get rid of me,” she alleged while speaking to the media persons.

“However, now I want to stay with my husband Chaitanya as his wife,” she demanded while alleging that Chaitanya had married two women earlier.

Meanwhile, Paralakhemundi Police Station has started an investigation into the matter.
