Jharsuguda: A 35-year-old woman was shot dead by a miscreant near her house at Rohidaspada under Sarasmal police limits in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district late last night.
The deceased has been identified as Kanaklata Rohidas, wife of Sanand Rohidas of the Rohidaspada. She is survived by her husband and two children.
Sanand told media persons that all four members of the family were sleeping at their house but at around 1.30 AM he went outside to attend nature’s call and found her wife lying in a pool of blood.
Sanand further said that none of their family members heard the gunshot.
On being informed, the police reached the spot and began investigation into the matter. The reason behind the firing is yet to be ascertained, police said.
