Keonjhar: A tribal woman died after being hit by a train near Badasiali village under Harichandapur police limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Mandui Munda, wife of Ghanashaym Munda in Masanijodi village in the same area in the district.
The victim and her sister were reportedly crossing the railway tracks when a train hit her. She died on the spot.
On being informed, local police reached the spot and began an investigation into the matter. The body was later seized and sent to a hospital in Anandpur for autopsy test.
“We have sent the body to Anandpur Hospital for post-mortem. It is yet to ascertain whether she died in the mishap or she committed suicide”, a police official said.
