Bhawanipatna: In a heart-wrenching incident, a woman allegedly killed her two minor sons by slitting their throats and ended her life here in Odisha’s Kalahandi district on Monday.
The deceased have been identified as Bimala Majhi and her sons – Rabindra Majhi (4) and Dushmant Majhi (6) of Singajharan village under Bhawanipatna Sadar Police limits in the district.
While Bimala’s decapitated body was recovered from railway track near her village while her two sons were lying dead with throat slit at their residence.
Sources said, Bimala might have slit throat of her sons and later committed suicide by jumping on the railway track due to a family dispute.
Bimala recently lodged a police complaint against her husband Linga Majhi after the latter did a second marriage. Linga, a mason, was living with his second wife here in the district headquarter since last four-five months.
Meanwhile, Bhawanipatna Sadar police recovered all the bodies and sent to hospital for autopsy test.
