Paradeep: A whopping amount of Rs 14.86 lakh was found missing from Paradeep Garh branch of Union Bank of India prompting the bank authorities to lodge a complaint with the local police.
The matter came to fore during an internal audit of the branch. The discrepancy was done between 2016 and 2020. The internal audit team corroborated the missing of coins after which an FIR in this regard was lodged at Paradeep police station.
The bungling has been done by former bank managers and employees who worked in the bank earlier, sources said.
IIC Prabhas Chandra Sahoo said the real incident would be revealed soon after checking all the papers.
