Bhubaneswar: In what can be considered as a piece of good news for the animal lovers, a white tigress gave birth to three cubs at Nandankanan Zoological Park here on Sunday.
According to the authorities of the Nandankanan Zoo, tigress Bijaya delivered the cubs at 10.58 AM, 1 PM and 1.35 PM.
It is to be noted here that this is the third time that the tigress delivered cubs at Nandankanan. The tigress had given birth to two each cubs earlier on August 20, 2016 and September 17, 2017.
Deputy Director of Nandankanan Zoological Park Bimal Prasanna Acharya informed that the big cat has experience of taking proper care of the cubs.
As of now, both the mother and baby tigers are doing well, the Deputy Director informed adding that the number of tigers at the Zoological Park rose to 28 with the delivery of three cubs.
