Sambalpur: The Odisha Vigilance on Monday apprehended the Revenue Inspector (RI) of Jamankira in Sambalpur district while demanding and accepting a bribe.
The RI has been identified as Manoj Kumar Mahananda.
Reportedly, the anti-corruption team laid a trap against Manoj while demanding and accepting cash of Rs 9,000/- from the complainant for preparing the field verification report for partition of the ancestral landed property.
The entire bribe money has been recovered and seized from Mahananda’s possession.
In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance filed a case under section 7 of P.C Act,1988 as amended by the PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered.
An investigation is underway against Mahananda.
