Odisha Vigilance arrests Project Associate while accepting bribe

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday apprehended the Project Associate of the PIA (Project Implementing Agency) Office in Tumudibandha, Baliguda at Kandhamal while demanding and accepting a bribe.

The Forester has been identified as Nagendra Nath Swain.

Acting on a tip-off, the Berhampur anti-corruption team laid a trap against Nagendra while demanding and accepting cash of Rs.50,000/- from a Complainant for processing the bills towards payment for execution of Farm Ponds by four beneficiaries of village Dupi & Edipadar.

The entire bribe money has been recovered and seized from Nagendra’s possession.

A case has been registered in this connection with Sambalpur Vigilance under section 7 (b) of The Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.
