Odisha Urban election: State Govt employees to get 3 days of Special Causal Leave

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government today announced to give three days of Special Causal Leave to its employees who desire to exercise their franchise during the upcoming urban election.

In his letter to all the departments, all heads of departments, all RDCs and all collectors, Joint Secretary to the State government, Susamarani Devi, said that the government employees who desire to exercise their franchise at places away from their headquarters on the date of the poll may be allowed Special Causal Leave for maximum three days i.e on the day preceding poll, one day after poll and on the date of poll.

The leave to be granted may be treated as special causal leave in addition to the normal casual leave admissible to them during the calendar year, 2022, he added.

It is to be noted here that voting for the general election to three Municipal Corporations (Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Berhampur) and 106 Municipalities/NACs will be held on March 24 (Thursday).
