Gunupur: The Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology University (GIET University) in the Rayagada district has been closed for three days following detection Covid-19 cases in the campus.
The varsity will remain closed from April 8 to April 10 as per the direction of the sub-collector, said Registrar of the university. The decision to close the campus was taken following an order from the Sub-collector, Gunupur.
Those who are staying inside the campus have been advised to co-operate with the medical team and other government officers.
Students and employees of the university residing outside the campus will not be allowed to enter the premises during the period.
Earlier, in March, the campus of Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) had been sealed after staff and students had tested positive for COVID-19.
Oxford College of Engineering & Management and Silicon Institute of Technology in Bhubaneswar were also sealed for violation of COVID-19 guidelines.
