Angul: Two labourers died after a wall of a house collapsed near Banarpal Chhak in the district today.
The deceased have been identified as Dipu Parida (34) and Tapan Nayak (33), both residents of Brundabanpur village.
As per reports both the deceased were hired for water supply pipeline work of an under-construction house owned by one Gopinath Sahoo near an open field. However, the wall of the house collapsed on them while they were excavating the soil.
Personnel of Odisha Fire Service rushed to the spot and conducted a rescue operation. They managed to rescue both of trapped under the debris after around one hour and by that time both of them have died.
Police have detained the employer for further investigation into the incident.
