Dhenkanal: In a tragic incident, a driver was killed after an iron ore-laden truck fell off the Saranga bridge on National Highway-53 under Parjanga police station in Dhenkanal district on Sunday.
The driver has been identified as Manas Ranjan Dhibar, a resident of Pallahara in Angul district.
Sources said, the ill-fated iron laden truck was enroute Angul from Keonjhar, when the truck front tyre blasted over the bridge, following which the truck lost control and fell off the bridge. The driver died on the spot.
After getting information, the Talcher fire service personnel reached the spot and started rescue operations.
Later, the Police said that they have started an investigation into the incident.
