Bhubaneswar: A few days back Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) had partnered with TG Swikruti SHG, a self-help group comprising 10 transgender members to collect holding tax and trade licence fee from defaulters.
This partnership has proved to be highly fruitful as the transgender organization has collected 7.5 lakh in a span of 4 days.
Through this collaboration two objectives were fulfilled. Firstly it will involve the transgender community’s self help group.
And secondly it involves rehabilitation of under privileged communities by augmenting their income.
As agreed by the parties the remuneration will depend on the collection. If the collection is of 40 lakh, 1% remuneration will be given to them.
Accordingly, if the collection is more than 40 lakh the remuneration for any extra amount up to 60 lakh will 1.5%
If the collection is more than 60 lakh the remuneration will be 2% for collection of extra amount.
