Odisha: Trade Unions’ strike affects normal life for second day
Bhubaneswar: The two-day nationwide strike called by ten trade unions disrupted normal life in many parts of Odisha for the second day today. Trade unions are protesting alleged anti-worker policies of the Narendra Modi government.
Protesters obstructed train services in Bhubaneswar, Balasore, Berhampur, Cuttack and many other places in the state. Puri-Howrah Passenger halted at Balasore station while Garib Rath Express was stalled in Bhubaneswar station this morning.
Trade Union members were seen picketing in major towns. Vehicular traffic has been disrupted, forcing commuters narrowing times to reach their destinations.
Business establishments, banks, post offices, remained closed for second day. Educational institutions also remained closed in several districts.
