Odisha to set up dedicated vaccination centres for children

Bhubaneswar: Odisha will set up dedicated vaccination centres for children between 15-18 years age group against Covid-19, informed the director of Health and Family Welfare, Bijay Panigrahi on Wednesday.

Reportedly, the eligible teens can register themselves on the CoWin app through their Aadhar Card and school IDs from January 1, 2022 following which the vaccination will begin from January 3. The vaccination timings will be from 8 AM-1 PM.

Earlier on Tuesday, he had said that children who were born before January 1, 2007, are eligible to take the COVID-19 vaccine doses. The online and on-site registration facilities are available.

“The gap between the first dose and second dose for children would be 28 days. For senior citizens, it is yet to be decided which vaccine would be administered. For boosters, doctors have recommended for a gap of nine months post date of second dose administration,” he added.

Meanwhile, booster doses will be administered to frontline workers from January 10, 2022, and those above 60 years with co-morbidities on the recommendation of doctors.
