Odisha To Provide Financial Incentives For Frontline Health Workers

Bhubaneswar: In the view of surge in the Covid-19 cases, the Odisha government on Thursday has decided to pay incentives to the contractual. outsourced and volunteer healthcare professionals working under the Health and Family Welfare department.

An additional one month remuneration will be applicable to those contractual/outsourced staff who have actively engaged in the line of Covid-19 duty and Covid vaccination work for a period From April to July 2021.

It is highly essential to keep the morale of these contractual/outsources staff high as to enhance their efficiency and effectiveness during this time of Covid pandemic which have hit the state for the second time.

The proposal has been approved  under the Chairmanship of the Chief Secretary. The incentive to be paid to the contractual, outsourced and volunteers will be equivalent to the consolidated basic remuneration of a month excluding allowances or perks or taxes, if any, given to the staff.

An inncentive of Rs 1000 to each ASHA will be paid for the period from April to July 2021 as they play an important role in surveillance, contract tracing, containment measures and mobilization of the beneficiaries for Covid-vaccination.
