Odisha temperature unlikely to vary in next 4-5 days, See details

Bhubaneswar: The temperature in Odisha is unlikely to change in the next four to five days, informed the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department in Bhubaneswar.

As per the weather report, the coastal areas and neighbouring places will experience high humidity levels for the next few days. As many as 12 places recorded boiled at 40 degrees Celcius and above. Balangir recorded the highest mercury at 42.2°C.

Likewise, Baripada boiled at 41°C, Jharsuguda at 40°C, Sambalpur at 40.6°C, Sundargarh at 40°C, Bhawanipatna at 41°C, Titlagarh at 41.8°C, Malkangiri 41°C, Sonepur at 40.6°C, Boudh at 42 °C, Paralakhemundi at 41.5°C, Bargarh at 41°C. The twin cities, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, recorded 37.8°C and 39.6°C respectively.

Adding to it, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also said that conditions are becoming favorable for the onset of the southwest monsoon over Kerala in the next 2-3 days.

Meanwhile, the weather department has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms with lightning in eight districts of Odisha.

The alert has been issued in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Bhadrak Balasore, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri till 8.30 am of May 30.
