Odisha temperature likely to rise by 3-4 degrees Celcius, Heat Wave Alert Issued

Bhubaneswar: The day temperature in Odisha will rise in by 3-4 degrees Celsius from March 16, informed the Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar.

Reportedly, the weather department wrote on its Twitter account “As the airflow from the west to northwest set to intensify, the day temperature is likely to rise by 3 to 4 degrees across the State.”

Adding to it, a heat wave Yellow Warning for several districts of the State on March 16 and 17. The Yellow Warning has been issued for Bolangir, Sonepur and Boudh districts on March 16, whereas for Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Angul, Nayagarh, and Khordha on March 17.

Earlier on Sunday, the daytime temperature also remained above 36 degrees in 10 cities of the State. Titlagarh recorded the highest temperature with 38 degrees Celsius. Similarly, 37.8 degree Celsius in Bolangir, 37.3 degrees C in Jharsuguda, 37.1 degrees C in Angul, and 36.9 degrees C in Sambalpur.

Bhubaneswar and Cuttack also recorded 36.9 degree and 35.6 degree Celsius respectively, added MeT Bhubaneswar.

Notably, heavy fog in various parts of the capital Bhubaneswar today. The minimum visible distance in the airport area was 50m this morning.
