Odisha: Tahasildar Under Vigilance Scanner, Huge Amount Of Cash Seized

Balasore: The Tahasildar of Bangriposi has been caught by the vigilance sleuths under vigilance scanner. The vigilance officers intercepted the Tahasildar, Abhimanyu Panda at Naharpatana Chowk under Balasore, Sadar Police Station.

According to reports, he was coming to his residential house at Malikashpur Balasore with hard cash of Rs.2,56,505/-. 

His residential house at Malikashpur near Lenka Mess, F.M. College Balasore was searched. During house search cash of Rs.23, 62,485/-, gold ornaments weighing 123.860 grams, 34 numbers of bank pass books in different banks and 06 numbers of postal pass book,63 numbers of land documents (sale deed and RoR.), 10 numbers of debit and credit cards, 03 numbers of L.I.C. policy documents, 02 numbers of SBI Life insurance policy documents, 03 numbers of SBI Mutual Fund policy documents have been seized.

02 numbers of locker keys i.e. one of Punjab National Bank and another is Gramya Bank have been seized. The triple storied building of Panda was evaluated by local technical engineers which amounts to Rs.70,59,452/-.

Due to holidays on 27.03.2021, the lockers could not be opened, the replies from concerned banks and other Govt. offices could not be obtained. Steps are being taken to open the lockers and obtain the replies from the banks and others offices to arrive at a conclusion regarding the income expenditure and assets of Sri Panda and his family members.

A case has been registered under Balasore Vigilance P.C. (Ammendment) Act.2018.
