Bhubaneswar: A team of STF and Koraput district Police arrested an interstate drug peddler with the assistance of UP police in Agwar Khas village under Etmadpur police limits in Agra of Utter Pradesh.
The interstate drug peddler has been identified as Shivnath Singh.
Acting on a tip-off, the team of officials conducted raid in Agwar Khas village.
Machhakund Police had seized contraband Ganja around 810 Kg, one Eicher Van and other incriminating materials from the possession of two accused persons belonging to UP.
During interrogation both the accused persons confessed that as per direction of their vehicle owner Shivnath Singh, they were transporting contraband ganja.
The arrested accused was one of the masterminds in a case as well as a noted inter-state drug trafficker (Ganja). He was absconding since occurrence of the case.
After collecting sufficient information, raid was conducted and finally the above absconding was apprehended.
Soon after his arrest he was produced before the Hon’ble court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Agra (UP) for transit remand and five days transit remand has been granted in order to produce before the trying court i.e. Addl. Dist and Sessions Judge-cum-Spl. Judge, Koraput.
