Odisha State Cabinet approves 13 proposals; Rural low voltage issue to be solved

Bhubaneswar: Odisha State cabinet on Friday approved 13 proposals. One of these proposals aims to solve the low voltage issue in rural area. The cabinet meeting was held today.

As per reports, to solve the low voltage issue in rural Odisha, a transmission project worth Rs 260 crore has got nod of the cabinet today. According to the proposal, Grid Substations will be erected at four places.

Besides, a sum of Rs 1796 will be spent to strengthen the Odisha distribution System. Also, 99 Sub stations to be made in low voltage pockets while 64 number of 33 KV line connection will be made. This will be completed within coming three years.

The cabinet has also given nod to the Sandul barrage project to be made over River Sandul in Kalahandi district. The barrage will be made with a sum of Rs 126 crore. Accordingly about 5 thousand hector fields will be irrigated. This project will be finished within coming two and half years.

The cabinet today also approved an Ordinance that has been made for the Amendment of the Odisha Municipal Act 1950 and Odisha Municipal Corporation Act 2003.
