Odisha sizzles, Talcher hottest at 43.1 degrees Celsius

Bhubaneswar: Odisha continued to sizzle as blistering heat swept across the state with Talcher becoming the hottest place of today. It recorded 43.1 degrees Celsius temperature.

The Regional Meteorological department informed that apart from Talcher, eight other places recorded temperature above the 40 degrees Celsius.

While Titlagarh boiled at 43 degree Celsius, Angul at 42.7.  Likewise, people in Sundargarh (40.0), Sambalpur (40.1), Sonepur (40.8), Jharsuguda (40.9), Bolangir (42.0), and Bhawanipatna (42.5) had to suffer a lot as the mercury crossed the 40 degrees Celsius mark there today.

Similarly, the day temperature at Hirakud hovered at 39.9 degree Celsius. This was followed by Bhubaneswar (39.5) and Malkangiri (39.0).
