Bhubaneswar: Atleast six people were killed and several others injured in separate lightning incidents in Kendrapara and Puri districts on Wednesday.
As per reports, two persons were killed and two others critically injured after lightning struck them at Karanja village under Mahakalapada block in the district. The deceased duo has been identified as Papuni Das and Rangadhar Behera.
Similarly, Dillip Mallick of Marilo village and Ajay Nayak of Gotribila village in Kendarapra district also died after being hit by lightning while another person identified as Bijay Nayak also succumbed at Naranpur village under Marsaghai block in the district.
Besides Gita Bhoi, a resident of Nimapada village under Bant block of Puri district wa also killed in lightning strike while she was working at a field.
