Odisha Simlipal Forest Fires; 4 More Teams Deployed To Douse Flames

Mayurbhanj: The Simlipal Forest fires in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha refuse to be doused. The state government has taken it seriously and has pressed a number of teams into action.

According to reports, four more teams have been deployed to douse the flames. Earlier on March 5th, five teams had been formed at the Jashipur Fire Station to put out the blaze.

The teams were working under the Deputy Director of Jashipur, situated in the northern part of Simlipal.

According to sources, about 25 fire department personnel from Baripada and Rairangpur fire stations are present in the forest to douse the flames.

While there are five special vehicles for them, three vehicles will arrive from Baripada, Baleshwar and Bhadrak today, they will be accompanied by 10 more fire department personnel.

Wherever there is a fire in Simlipal forest, the team will reach the spot and try their best to put out the flames at the earliest possible.

According to a survey, drastically rising temperatures have contributed to Odisha having the highest number of forest fires in the country for a week. 5,291 forest fires were recorded in the state between Febuary 22 to March 1.
