Odisha: Seven Arrested For Gang Rape Of Girl In Kalahandi Forest

Bhawanipatna: Kalahandi police today arrested seven persons including one minor in connection with the gang rape of a girl in Jaring forest near National Highway-26 in Junagarh of the district on September 14.

Kalahandi SP Battula Gangadhar said that while four persons including a minor were arrested for rape another three accused were arrested for making the video of the incident viral on social media.

“As per the complaint of the victim six people were involved in the rape and we are trying to nab the rest two accused. We are also trying to verify the antecedents of the accused,” said the SP.

The video which is doing rounds on various social media platforms features the accused, all with covered face, sexually assaulting the girl in an unknown place. More shockingly, the accused could be seen threatening the girl by showing sharp weapons during the act.
