Odisha all set to welcome New Year-2018

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is all set to bid adieu to 2017 and to welcome New Year-2018 in a grand manner. Several hotels, restaurant, pubs and clubs across the state have lined up a host of events for the Zero Night celebrations.
People were seen rushing to buy entry tickets for the gala celebrations that have been scheduled for tonight at different locations. Huge number of people made beelines at different bakeries, confectioneries and cloth stores to buy things for the New Year celebration.
Meanwhile, the Commissionerate Police has made elaborate security arrangements to maintain law and order during the Zero Night celebrations in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. As many as 10 platoons of police force in Bhubaneswar and 6 platoons in Cuttack will be deployed during the celebrations, said sources.
Special attention will be given for the security of tourists at Nandankanan Zoological Park, Khandagiri, Dhauli and other heritage sites in the Twin City, added the sources.
A huge number of tourists from several parts of the country have already started to throng the pilgrim town of Puri to begin the New Year with the blessings of Lord Jagannath. Security has also been beefed up on the premises of Srimandir and sea beach.
