Odisha sees slight decrease in Covid positive cases, 4 deaths

Bhubaneswar: A total of 441 Covid-19 positive cases including 75 in the 0-18 years age group have been detected positive in Odisha in the last 24 hours taking the tally to 10,37,964, informed the Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Saturday.

Among the 441 positives, there are 253 quarantine cases and 188 local contact cases. The new recovery cases stands at 603, taking the total number of 10,25,025 Hence, the number of active cases stands at 4,581.

The state pool has 50 new Covid positives.

Meanwhile, the State Health & Family Welfare Department informed about the death of four COVID infected patients, taking the death toll to 8,301 after due completion of death audit process. The list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19.

Details of cases confirmed as death due to Covid-19, after due completion of death audit process:

1. A 44 years old male of Angul District who was also suffering from Coronary Artery Disease – post Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary.

2. A 52 years old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Hypothyroid, Coronary Artery Disease – post Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary, Chronic Kidney Disease with Compromised Renal Status.

3.A 71 years old male of Khordha District who was also suffering from Hypertension & Bronchial Asthma.

4.A 39 years old Male of Puri District who was also suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease, Psychiatric Illness.
