Odisha sees sharp decline in Covid cases with 170 positives

Bhubaneswar: A total of 170 Covid-19 positive cases including 24 in the 0-18 years age group have been detected positive in Odisha in the last 24 hours taking the tally to 10,42,943, informed the Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Friday.

Among the 170 positives, there are 98 quarantine cases and 72 local contact cases. However, 447 patients recovered in the State taking the total number of 10,30,889.

Hence, the number of active cases stands at 3,651.

Besides, State Pool has recorded 14 new Covid cases.

On the other hand, the State Health & Family Welfare Department informed about the death of three COVID infected patients including one from Bhubaneswar, taking the death toll to 8,350 after due completion of death audit process. The list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19.

Details of cases confirmed as death due to Covid-19, after due completion of death audit process:

1.A 55 years old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Old Pulmonary Tuberculosis.

2.A 31 years old male of Mayurbhanja District.

3.A 70 years old male of Nayagarh District who was also suffering from Hypertension.
