Odisha sees rise in Covid-19 cases, 39 children test positive

Bhubaneswar: A total of 237 Covid-19 positive cases including 39 in the 0-18 years age group have been detected positive in Odisha in the last 24 hours.

With 237 positives, the tally rose to 10,49,345 informed the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Wednesday.

Among the 237 positives, 139 are quarantine cases and 98 are local contacts. However, 203 patients recovered in the State taking the total number of 10,38,509. Currently, the active cases stands at 2370.

On the other hand, the State Health & Family Welfare Department informed about the death of two COVID infected patients, taking the death toll to 8,413 after due completion of death audit process. The list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19.

Details of cases confirmed as death due to Covid-19, after due completion of death audit process:

1. A 98 years old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Hypertension.

2. A 57 years old male of Dhenkanal District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.
