Odisha sees marginal spike in Covid-19 cases, 3 fatalities

Bhubaneswar: A total of 270 Covid-19 positive cases including 57 in the 0-18 years age group have been detected positive in Odisha in the last 24 hours.

With 270 positives, the tally rose to 10,49,867 informed the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Friday.

Among the 270 positives, 159 are quarantine cases and 111 are local contacts. However, 276 patients recovered in the State taking the total number of 10,38,971. Currently, the active cases stands at 2425.

On the other hand, the State Health & Family Welfare Department informed about the death of three COVID infected patients, taking the death toll to 8,418 after due completion of death audit process. The list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19.

Details of cases confirmed as death due to Covid-19, after due completion of death audit process:

1.A 90 years old Female of Cuttack District.

2.A 35 years old Male of Khordha District.

3.A 80 years old Female of Sundargarh District who was also suffering from Hypertension.
