Odisha sees marginal rise in Covid-19 cases, 87 children infected

Bhubaneswar: A total of 556 Covid-19 positive cases including 87 in the 0-18 years age group have been detected positive in Odisha in the last 24 hours taking the tally to 10,35,973, informed the Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Tuesday.

Among the 556 positives, there are 324 quarantine cases and 232 local contact cases. The new recovery cases stands at 530, taking the total number of 10,22,780. Hence, the number of active cases stands at 4,846.

Meanwhile, the State Health & Family Welfare Department informed about the death of four COVID infected patients, taking the death toll to 8,290 after due completion of death audit process. The list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19.

Details of cases confirmed as death due to Covid-19, after due completion of death audit process:

1. A 75 years old Male of Cuttack District who was also suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease & Chronic Kidney Disease.

2. A 47 years old Female of Cuttack District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.

3. A 39 years old Female of Jagatsinghpur District who was also suffering from Covid 19 Pneumonia, ARDS.

4. A 48 years old Female of Jagatsinghpur District.
