Odisha Schools To Reopen From This Date

Bhubaneswar: All the educational institutions in Odisha will remain closed till November 30, the State Government has confirmed.

The State Government has released the guidelines. As per the Unlock 6.0, the government has decided to open classes of Class IX to XII from November 16 under the supervision of School and Mass Education Department , the notification issued by the Office of Special Relief Commissioner said on Saturday.

However, the government has allowed holding of academic, entrance and other competitive examination in the state.

Other activities shall be permitted.

  1. Online/Distance learning shall continue to be permitted and shall be encouraged.
  2. School & Mass Education Department/Higher Education Department may permit teaching and non-teaching staff to be called to the schools for online teaching/ tele-counselling and related work, in areas outside the Containment Zones only as per Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by the Ministry of Education/ Health & Family welfare (MOHFW), Government of India.
  3. Higher Education Institutions will be permitted to open only for research scholars (Ph.D) and post-graduate students in science and technology stream requiring laboratory/ experimental work.
  4. All training activities including skill and professional development.

However, School and Mass Education Minister, Sameer Ranjan Dash on Saturday said that the dates for reopening of schools will be announced soon.
